Controlling a parallel kinematics mechanism like a positioning hexapod requires fast and numerous calculations to transform position instructions into motor current set points while ensuring secure motions.

To meet these demands, all Symetrie positioning hexapods come with a high-performance control rack. This control rack handles the complex computations needed for real-time processing and accurate movement.

Users can interact with the system through the intuitive Graphical User Interface (GUI), which makes setting commands and monitoring status easy. Alternatively, users can use an Application Programming Interface (API) to integrate the control rack directly with their custom software environments.

A complete and flexible solution

All Symetrie hexapod racks are made with:

■ a powerful multi-axis Delta Tau industrial controller
■ drivers sized to meet the needs of each application
■ input-output modules allowing various interactions with the hexapod environment.

Symetrie’s controller solutions are robust and flexible. They can be adapted to different types of motors (DC, brushless, stepper) coupled to various encoder technologies (absolute, incremental, linear, rotary).

The controllers are compatible with the hand-held control unit in option.

Intuitive Hexapod Control with SYM_Positioning

Thanks to an ergonomic Human Machine Interface (HMI), SYM_Positioning hexapod positioning and control software provides simple commands accessible from the home screen, allowing for easy operation of your best-in-class hexapod. The software also enables the generation of complex movement sequences using specific files. Additionally, the center of rotation can be easily adjusted within the software, offering flexibility for various applications.

SYM_Positioning allows:

How to choose your hexapod?

Thanks to Symetrie’s free simulation software, you can easily check the possible travels and load capacities of each of their hexapods. HexaSym allows you to select the best solution for your application and test a variety of possible configurations.

Testing several parameters

With the HexaSym simulator, you can test cumulative travel ranges on several axes at the same time, including the “worst cases” of your applications. You can also change the center of rotation, define different reference frames, vary the orientation of the hexapod (vertical, horizontal, other) and the payload.
It includes a 3D visualization feature that lets you see how the hexapod moves according to commanded positions, along with sliders for immediate movement control

And for specific hexapods

You can also use HexaSym for specific hexapods, for which Symetrie will provide you with a configuration file compatible with the simulator.
