Tunable Filters and Modules for Supercontinuum Lasers

A high quality tunable filter will transform your supercontinuum source into a high performance tunable laser in VIS, NIR or mid-IR regions.  Supercontinuum lasers offer the benefits of an extremely broad wavelength spectrum, often spanning from the ultraviolet to the infrared, generated through a nonlinear process resulting from the interaction of an intense source laser with a non-linear fiber. Many applications for supercontinuum lasers, however, require selection or adjustment of specific wavelengths from the broad spectrum. These filters play a crucial role in various applications, such as spectroscopy, microscopy, telecommunications, and sensing. The ability to tune or select specific wavelengths is essential for tailoring the laser output to meet specific requirements.

Axiom Optics offers different types of tunable filters and modules that can be used with Leukos supercontinuum lasers:

  • BEBOP: A cost-effective tunable solution that allows selecting a central wavelength in a supercontinuum spectrum thanks to linear filters and adjusting the spectral bandwidth down to 5 nm. It is a plug and play solution that works with all Leukos supercontinuum lasers.
  • TANGO: An acousto-optic tunable filter (AOTF) offering one or two outputs with up to 8 simultaneous user defined wavelengths  with a narrow linewidth down to 2 nm in the visible.
  • SALSA:  A single-wavelength scanning tunable filter for Mid-IR lasers.
  • POP VIS and POP NIR : Fiber coupling accessories to safely couple a supercontinuum source to a user defined fiber ( ex SMF28 with FC/APC connector) . POP modules also have the capability to  manually add  Ø1/2″ optics  on the optical path for custom manual filtering.

The choice of a tunable filter depends on the specific requirements of the application, such as the desired center wavelength, spectral bandwidth and type of optical output (free space or fibered). When combined with tunable filters, supercontinuum lasers offer one of the most versatile light sources for researchers and engineers working in a wide range of fields where precise control over the laser wavelength is crucial.
