The BREVA mid-sized hexapod is specially designed to deliver high angular accuracy. It ensures precise angular positioning for objects such as samples, probes, or sensors, with a resolution of 0.5 µm or 2.5 µrad.
THE BREVA hexapod is available in two versions, the high amplitude BREVA M, and the more compact BREVA S.
Available in three motorization variants—DC, stepper, and brushless motors—the BREVA mid-sized hexapod can be utilized in any orientation: vertical, horizontal, or even upside down.
A high performance control center
Controlling a parallel kinematics mechanism like a hexapod demands rapid and extensive calculations to convert position instructions into motor current set points while ensuring continuous motion security.
To meet this need, every BREVA mid-sized hexapod is equipped with a high-performance control rack. This rack integrates seamlessly with our Graphical User Interface (GUI) or, optionally, with your software environment via an Application Programming Interface (API).
A complete and flexible solution
Our control racks are designed with:
- A powerful multi-axis Delta Tau industrial controller
- Drivers tailored to the specific requirements of each application
- Input-output modules that facilitate various interactions with the hexapod environment
Our robust and adaptable controller solutions support different types of motors (DC, brushless, stepper) and are compatible with various encoder technologies (absolute, incremental, linear, rotary). Additionally, our controllers can be paired with an optional hand-held control unit.

Intuitive Control with SYM_Positioning Software
The SYM_Positioning hexapod control software features an ergonomic Human Machine Interface (HMI) that offers straightforward commands from the home screen and enables movement generation using specific files. Additionally, you can easily adjust the center of rotation within the software.
SYM_POSITIONING allows:

How to Choose Your Hexapod?
HexaSym, Symetrie’s free simulation software, makes it easy to evaluate the travel ranges and load capacities of each hexapod in their range. HexaSym helps you select the most suitable product for your application and experiment with various configurations.
Testing several parametersÂ
With the HexaSym simulator, you can:
- Test cumulative travel ranges across multiple axes simultaneously, including “worst cases.”
- Adjust the center of rotation and define different reference frames.
- Vary the hexapod’s orientation (vertical, horizontal, other) and payload.
- Utilize 3D visualization to see hexapod movements based on commanded positions.
- Use sliders for immediate movement control.
And for specific hexapods
It is also possible to use HexaSym for Symetrie’s specific hexapods, for which we will provide you with a configuration file compatible with the simulator.
