SXGA Thermal Camera Module

megapixel thermal infrared camera module

The Crius 1280 (previously IrLugX1M3) thermal infrared camera module boasts a resolution of 1.3 MP (1280 x 1024 pixels) with a 12 µm pitch. The high-definition sensor consists of an uncooled VOx microbolometer array developed by Lynred. With its extreme low size of 35 x 35 x 31 mm3, weight <70g and power consumption under 1.7W, the Crius 1280 is designed for easy integration into sub-systems.

Two versions are available:

  • Without on-board processing: USB3.0 interface outputting RAW 16-bit video streaming without any on-board processing. This plug-and-play solution for embedded systems interfaces with your host controller thanks to a comprehensive SDK providing support for configuration, control and image processing (Bad pixel replacement, non-uniformity correction and shutterless function).
  • With on-board processing: CameraLink, HD/3G-SDI, DF40, MIPI CSI-2 outputting ready-to-use images including all the image corrections. Additional functions are available such as global/local AGC, digital zoom up to 4x and overlays.

The Crius 1280 comes with a shutterless function and a ‘time to image’ under 6 seconds from power up. For applications requiring it, an optional mechanical shutter is available. The SXGA (1280 x 1024 pixels) format of this HD thermal camera module offers unmatched image quality with an NETD as low as 40mK and offers twice the field of view for the same fixed focal length optics compared to a VGA format (640 x 480 pixels).

The Crius 1280 is a dual-use (non-ITAR) thermal camera module with a frame rate up to 60 Hz.

Applications include:

  • Use in UAVs (Unmanned aerial Vehicles)
  • Use in UGVs (Unmanned Ground Vehicles)
  • Surveillance, security and maritime cameras
  • night-vision goggles
  • automotive and aircraft safety vision
  • machine vision inspection
  • medical images
  • and much more
